Mark Paveley
Chair

Mark served 3 years as a reserve then 25 years as a regular with the Royal Corps of Signals. He started as a signalman (private) and rose through the ranks to Warrant Officer Class 1 before commissioning and serving his last 6 years as a Captain. During that time he served in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, the Falkland Islands, Italy and Cyprus and deployed on Op Granby, Op Telic and Op Herrick.
His last posting saw his family living in Innsworth from July 2009, with his wife training to be a nurse at the same time. They loved the area so decided to put down roots in Gloucester.
Mark retains family ties with the military, his son serving in the Royal Navy. As well as this role and working full time Mark has been Chairman of the Gloucester City Royal British Legion since October 2015.

Dave Rose
Bloke wot does the website

Dave Rose originally hails from South Shields, on Tyneside. Joined the RAF at 16 and a half and served 13 years at home and abroad. Stations posted to were RAF Masirah (Oman), RAF Seletar (Singapore), RAF Luqa (Malta), RAF Gan (Maldives (that was a tough posting)).
After the RAF spent 8 years in Saudi Arabia with Lockheed Aircraft and the Saudi MoFA. Returning to the UK for nearly 20 years with Nortel Networks.
Settled in Gloucester in 1976 after previously being posted to RAF Boddington in 1971 and again in 1974. Spent some years volunteering with Vulcan to the Sky and the Jet Age Museum.
Retired at 60 and enjoying life with the RBL Riders and grandchildren (8 of them!).

These, and other members of the team, carry out tasks such as dealing with legal and Health & Safety requirements, Council permissions regarding use of venue, liability insurance, creating contacts for funding, performers, stalls and stands. There is an awful lot of organisation goes into such an event even when small like this year
