This event is organised completely by volunteers with many years served across all 3 Services of HM Forces, as well as some who have never served but who care deeply. This is not a City Council event or one organised by a marketing company, the resources we have are the talented volunteers on the committee and those lovely people who volunteer to help on the day. All funds must be raised through sponsorship.
This event is the opportunity for the Citizens of our Historic City to honour and thank our Armed Forces for their dedication to duty, their sacrifice and their service to our Country. This includes serving personnel, both Regular and Reserve, Cadets and Veterans. Although there is a specific separate Reserves’ Day, we incorporate that within our event and recognise everyone all in one go; those serving today, those who have served, and those who are tomorrow’s service personnel through the Sea Cadets, Army Cadets and Air Cadets.
